What: Blueberry Run(4+ miles)
When: Monday, July 27, 2009
Where: Minnewaska State Park, start at lake, around lake and over old golf course. Blueberries Galore!!

This famous series of Monday-night races that takes us through the heat of July.
All races start with kid’s events at 7pm; adult races follow immediately afterwards. The end-of-series awards and fun run/relay will be on August 3.

The Survival of the Shawangunks (SOS) is an eight stage triathlon sponsored annually by the New York Triathlete Association.
Cycle country roads and scenic highways circling the northern ridge of the Shawangunk Mountain Range. Ascend the western face. At the entrance to Minnewaska State Park leave your bike for a combination run/swim journey through some of America’s most beautiful cross-country trails and spring fed lakes.

There will be on site registration on the day of the race starting at 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM, but we strongly encourage pre-registration prior to race day. You can pre-register by clicking here.
The 5k race will begin at 9:30 AM. The race will begin at the Gilded Otter and head down Hugenot Street all the way to the Ulster Boces building. There the participants will turn around & head back toward the Gilded Otter along the beautiful New Paltz Rail Trail. The race will finish at the Gilded Otter where participants will receive a complimentary snack/drink. Race t-shirts will be provided to first 100 entrants. Made to order omelette bar from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Families & children are encouraged to participate as well. Race fee is $20 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, children under 2 are free, $5 for students with ID.

Franklin Street will be blocked from Broadway to Prospect Street. The day will include workshops, entertainment, food and other exciting events. Events will happen inside the Hodge Center and on the street. The kick-off for the event will begin at City Hall’s Victory Garden. Community members will walk to the Center on Franklin Street where activities for the day will begin.
