The Gunks Climbers’ Coalition is hosting their fourth members-only BBQ on Saturday, October 19th at 4:30pm.

The event is free for GCC members, which includes food and drinks. GCC Membership includes full membership with the Access Fund. If you’re not a member, you can join at the door, or even better, go to the Access Fund website: http://bit.ly/11F89wP and join or renew there but you have to specify that the Gunks Climbers’ Coalition is your local affiliate in order to get dual membership to both organizations. Joint membership for the Access Fund and Gunks Climbers’ Coalition is $35.00/year.

The event will be held at the Mohonk Preserve Visitors Center. Plenty of parking right near the Visitors Center and in the Stair Master parking areas.

We will also be holding a Silent Auction. Proceeds will benefit the Gunks Climbers Coalition.

Members of Paradox Sports and Timmy O’Neil will also be in attendance, sharing their stories and tales from their travels.

Come and hear about our upcoming projects, mingle with fellow climbers, eat, drink and be merry in a beautiful setting.

Please RSVP at https://gccfallbbq2013.eventbrite.com/ so we know how much food and drink to purchase.

My favorite new-ish red Link Cam got stuck in the crack at the base right of Fickle Fingers (left of Golden Dream) at nightfall on September 4 – it had walked in and was jammed pretty good, but definitely retreivable. Unfortunately, we had to leave because the park was closing but planned to work it out the next day or so. When we returned, it was already snagged by someone. If that’s you, (a) bravo for getting it out, and (b) would you see it in your heart to return it safely to its owner? I will happily make whatever arrangements are needed to pick it up or cover mailing costs, etc.

I can be reached via email at: dw55284@gmail.com

Thanks, Dave

I lost a number 3 camelot on pitch one of High Exposure on 3/30/13.  It was over cammed and my second couldn’t get it out.  If anyone got it, I’d love it back.
