Is appears that once a user's post is replied to, the original poster can no longer edit their post. A post I made yesterday now has one or two replies and my post no longer shows me an edit button. Is this true or am I totally missing something?

If it is true, is this a bug or intended behavior?

I thought this was intentional behavior on this the new board.

Just yeasterday I wrote I can not edit my first post in a second post.

I tested this by creating a test post and replying to it. I could edit the first post but not delete it, being told that a replyed-to post couldn't be deleted. I deleted the second, then the first.

Yes, I think I remember Evan mentioning that it would work this way.

Now if I delete this post and Oenophore deleted his, then I could correct the spelling errors in my first post!

I'll delete mine if you wish (this one too.)

Posts can be edited within the first 6 hours of their posting. That's the current setting I'm using, anyway. Not sure there is a time limit for deleting you posts, other than the stipulation that no one can have responded.

I suspected a brief deadline. The absence of the Edit box at the extreme left of the option boxes at the bottom of a post indicates expiration, which precludes editing or deletion.

6 hours is a little too short imho since I check this site in intervals greater then 6 hours most times.

I agree. In the "old days" I'd delete my posts that had become moot or embarrassing in a day or two.

I've edited this after Webmaster's reply to this.

Ok, now you've got 24 hours to make corrections. I'm not sure if a response to a post precludes your editing ability, but one of you will let me know.
