I'm not the person to ask about local climbing but I've heard there's climbing near Torrington. You can check out ctclimbers.com in addition to raggedmtn.org for some CT info.

The best way to find out about the current situation is to ask around at Prime Climb - the RMF folks there usually know what's going on in Woodbury.
This is a very interesting access situation - while there is a private land owner at the bottom of the cliff, the top is publicly owned. The deeds use the cliff as the boundary between the public and private land, so the cliff face is in a sort of netherworld between public and private. The landowner argues that while he doesn't own the cliff face, your ass hanging over his property violates his "air rights".
One strategy has been to lower to just above the cliff bottom and toprope routes without every touching the base. I've never had the patience to bother with that though.
Some of the routes on the publicly owned stuff left and right of the private property are OK but not as good as the disputed area.
The best strategy would be to buy this house and have unlimited access to the cliff!

Hey I'll keep that in mind! Of course, if I did buy it, I'd probably turn into a petty tyrant, keeping all those scruffy climbers off my property with a pack of wild dogs!!!!!!!
Someone has been climbing there pretty recently though - there was visible chalk on some of the routes.
