Posted on another site is a comment about folks need to climb in NJ covertly and NJ being not climbing friendly.

Wrong, NJ is very climbing friendly, including believe it or not also in Hunterdon County.

The freeloaders made an action and a process to address access and yet when asked how many climbers took the time to attend freeloaders meetings and or took the time to write a letter to these folks. Not many. It was and is easier for folks to lob comments at these folks from behind closed doors then follow the established process.

Participate in the process. Be visible.

Climbing is allowed on all State and Federal Lands and in a few County Parks.

Climbings records of stewardship on access to climbing areas in NJ is poor and getting worse as the recent posting of a commercial climbing venture in closed climbing/ bouldering areas in NJ manifests. And these postings are by people who claim to be active in access.

Climbing in County Flower and Private Gardens is not welcome, posting photos of bouldering in closed and posted areas on the web is not responsible climbing, circumventing the State Parks regs for paid climbing services and programs is not responsible climbing.

Sitting around and not getting active when activism is needed is not the appropriate way to gain access.

Climbers are 110% responsible for getting Cradle Rock closed by
ignoring the past requests of past land owners and by leaving climbing trash around, by parking on peoples yards, by overuse (climbers need to self police our actions, ie: responsible and aaccountable), by moving long established parking rocks and the like.

Grid bolting, placing fixed anchors on long-established boulder
problems, bolting climbs on and near falcons nests, bolting boulder problems and the like (including making statements like climb covertly) is not responsible climbing.

Removing rare plants in order to climb a 20 foot boulder in NJ is dead wrong and against the very foundation of climbing.

The reasons people do not "support" climbing is because of actions like these and other not mentioned.

Respect of the resource equals stewardship of the resource.

Climbing in NJ is a privilege.
