okay, other than the fact that the internet is not a fad, that the cordelette is longer safe and that i've gained 15 pounds, i've also become really stupid and have not climbed in over 2 years. that's about to change and here's my idiotic question: is my brand new harness bought between 2-3 years ago and always stored in either a cardboard box in an a/c storage unit or in my closet with no toxic solvents, etc. still safe to use?

yes...this from the guy who posted a picture of his elegant anchor to illustrate proper positioning of biners in a dymanic anchor (where did i put all that gear?!?!?).

Yes. Lots of studies/charts/graphs out there, but anything with harness strength webbing won't fail for many years without an area of excessive wear. Glad to hear you are back.
