Looking for softshell jacket with hood, no bells or whistles, with high pockets (can be reached with harness on) for fast and light ice climbing and mountaineering

Any recommendations?

Check EMS ;\)

Although, I am wondering what's wrong with all your Arcteryx gear?

Have you been to 5th Ave recently? There's an NBA store and an H&M... not quite what it used to be.

The Mammut Laser, but I haven't seen one in stores. I tried on the Marmot Superhero last week which has a stow hood and regular pockets, pretty nice.

mammut laser. i had one for two years before i stupidly lost it. its not like i get out any more, but it did fit over my helmet when i was climbing the brick wall surrounding my office's garden ("drytooling") and it's got ninja thumb loops and all that.

and high pockets.

I have the Marmot Super Hero and love it.... for mountain biking in cold weather. It might do for ice climbing in weather just below freezing, but I don't think it's good for too cold conditions or really heavy snow.

I use the Cloudveil Ice Floe and love it. High pocket, BIG hood, great material, has kept me quite well protected snowboarding, ice climbing and general winter mountaineering in the White Mtns.
