Hey all.

I've been slacklining for 2 years, and I'm looking to start highlining. Is there anyone that highlines at the gunks that I could tag along with and learn the ropes?

If you're referring to slacklines with alot of air underneath (highlines), I don't believe there's much (if any) of that happening in, on or around the Gunks. And, if there is, I doubt anyone would say so, as most of the area property is privately owned and having someone highlining across said property certainly wouldn't be a popular activity with the landowners. We have enough access issues as it is, so I really don't recommend it being done or even attempted on Preserve property.

With that being said, there may be some folks who might slackline just for the fun of it, but I don't believe it's something so incrediby popular that it is all they do.

This is primarily a rock climbing/hiking/biking area.

I thought our never used slackline was going to burn in the fire last weekend...

Steve HAD to put it so high above the ground...

Across the Palmaghatt Ravine would be pretty interesting too, but then you'd have to contend with the grizzlies, cobras and water buffaloes just to get out there.
